As 2015 comes to a [rapid] end, the past month has been a mixture of tidying up ongoing projects, planning for next year and attending some pretty fun end of the year, celebratory, events.
Here's my top five for the month of November -
1. Sustainable Business Network Awards
On the 24th November we (Rob, Jason & I) attended the Sustainable Business Network Awards, where #chchbikeshare was named a finalist in the Renewables Innovation Awards Category! While we didn't take out the big prize on the evening, it was wonderful to see a regional and community-driven initiative up there amongst the big players. We had a lovely evening with some great conversation around sustainable business in NZ - so, all in all, we were pretty thrilled.
2. BaristaCats Cafe goes live!
Last month I mentioned how one of my best and oldest friends was following her dream to open Auckland's Central Cat Cafe, BaristaCats. In November we hit the $15,000 PledgeMe target, which provided the means to get over the final hurdle to opening - and allowed the doors to open on the 1st December.
3. Joel Hart's Inaugural Solo Art Exhibition
Joel's art is incredible - and it was absolutely awesome to see him host his first ever solo exhibition, where he sold 11 pieces on opening night. Go Joel!
4. Appointment to the NZ Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Board
I'm thrilled and honoured to have been appointed to the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Board in November - commencing on the 1st January 2016, through until 2021.
This is such a privilege; and I'm very much looking forward to supporting the work of the Board next year.
5. Announcements coming soon....
On the 11th December, I'll be making some exciting announcements about my future work structure.... So, there has been a lot of work behind the scenes, which I'll be able to share very shortly. Watch this space....
As I sit and plan for 2016, it's not hard to think about what an incredible year 2015 has been. Here's to another couple of weeks' work, in order to get prepared for next year.... And some exciting announcements to come!
Thanks for all of the ongoing support that I receive from all of you!
